"AMY WINEHOUSE TO APPEAR IN COURT OVER WEED CHARGE"

By Lauren Carter of Sohh

The legal woes continue for Amy Winehouse, as the British soul singer has been summoned to a Norwegian court after appealing her fine for marijuana possession.

According to the Associated Press, Winehouse will appear in court in Bergen, Norway on Feb. 29 as part of the standard legal process when appealing a conviction.

"I can confirm that she must appear in court," said Bergen police spokeswoman Liv Karlsen. "If one appeals a conviction, it's the rule that one has to appear in person, so this is not surprising."

As SOHH previously reported, Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were arrested in Norway on Oct. 18 for possession of about 1/4-ounce of marijuana. They were released the next day after paying $715 in fines.(continue)
